CAI developed DEVECOL using the MapInfo ActiveX Control, MapX, ebedded in a Visual Basic application. DEVECOL was developed for Peter Freeman Associates to meet the needs of the development community in Africa by linking documents describing development projects to the location of the project. DEVECOL provides information about the environment in which the project was conducted including rainfall, soil types, and agricultural methods in use.
